Virtually all corporate staff fail to understand the meaning of deregulation, globalization, e-commerce and company profits. The author of a new study into corporate workers concludes that many are unable to adapt. Until these workers succumb to Darwinian evolution processes many companies will fall into rapid decline. Geoffrey Moore's latest book is full of examples and case studies. Many deal with economic issues but a large section of the book is devoted to Darwin's theory of evolution. Evolution, Moore suggests, is an example of continuous improvement in the genetics of the workplace. His ultimate conclusion is that the world of corporate excess is now in relentless decline. To meet the current financial pressures on companies, there is an increasing need to innovate. Geoffrey Moore's book aims to explore these issues while focusing on a range of companies. His work explores the kind of market a business is operating in and identifies strategies to engage all staff in overcoming inertia. Geoffrey Moore's theories on corporate culture are considered controversial by many observers. The key criticism relates to Moore's failure to overcome inertia and consider new innovative ways that companies are being governed by today, both in older markets which are in decline, and in the emerging markets of new economies.
